Altivex 736 (Pty) Ltd was founded due to the high demand of clients requiring the specialized services of a company that understands the Abnormal Transport market. We have combined skills that include marine surveying, abnormal transport and clearing and forwarding. We have since evolved into the normal transport market and also handle Dangerous Goods. We also specialize in Project Management over Africa.
Our team includes:
Richard Morrell - Owner of Altivex 736 (Pty) Ltd
Richard has been in the abnormal transport industry since 1991. He has been involved with project management for major clients including Sasol, Group Five, SA Breweries, Hitachi, Barloworld, Caterpillar, Gyro-Trac and Eskom. Being involved in the cross border movements for the copper mines in Zambia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, as well as the sugar mill industry in Malawi and Swaziland, he has a vast knowledge of the workings at the different borders going into Africa. He has also been involved in numerous power station and mining upgrades in Botswana, Zimbabwe and South Africa. Richard also undertakes marine surveying services on behalf of clients, and contracts to other Marine Surveying agencies eg. DS Oliver cc, DG Wigmore & Associates, MJ McKenna etc.
Direct loading of abnormal cargo, checking of vehicle permits, validity of drivers’ Operating Permits, is a key requirement as part of the Risk Management Service we offer. Richard personally does all these checks.
Richard is hands on when it comes to the projects he handles. He is involved from the clearing process, tracking the vessels, identifying and inspecting the cargo upon arrival and ensuring that vehicles are loaded accordingly and to capacity.
Richard does not mind “getting his hands dirty”, and will assist drivers and staff with the loading process, including guiding staff on how to lash down their loads to ensure minimum risk.
Drieckey Morrell - Partner at Altivex 736 (Pty) Ltd
Drieckey has been involved in the transport industry since 1997. With a Transport Management Degree from the University of Johannesburg, specializing in Dangerous Goods, Abnormal Loads and Project Management, she has been involved in major projects for Sasol Ltd, and various clearing agents. Being a hands-on person as well, she is involved throughout the projects, updating clients on the status of their projects, ensuring that documentation is handled proficiently and sent to the clients.
